Inspiring Atlanta One Home at a Time

Welcome to HouseSmith, a design-build firm serving the greater Atlanta area for over 20 years. One thing we’ve learned over the years is how to listen to our customers and understand their needs. We remove your hassle of outsourcing your project to multiple parties, which will streamline the process and create cost savings. We operate as a design-build company and work with top architects and designers, so we can guide you through the whole project from start to finish. We specialize in all things “home” from building custom homes to renovations for kitchens, bathrooms, and basement.

Our philosophy is that each client is unique in our eyes and has different needs. We not only want to meet your expectations, but exceed them. We want to create an atmosphere that showcases who you are, because after all your home is where you build your life, not just a place where you live. Our team recognizes that.

Whether you have a small project, a full home renovation or a new custom home, our process is clear and easy.  There are no hidden costs and we can work to your budget.

We never assume and always ask. Our process for serving you is personalized and we provide as much communication and collaboration as you desire.“The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”- George Bernard Shaw.

Changes are inevitable and therefore we implement policies to insure there are no misunderstandings. We are always available and live by the rule that we get back to you promptly. We are only a phone call away and are flexible if you decide to change course on a project. Because your dream and version of the good life are important to us and we want to make it a reality.

BJ and David, Virginia transplants to Atlanta via New York, instantly loved the large brick Georgian they had found in a quiet Buckhead neighborhood. “The interior of the house was tired and dated looking. It had also acquired at some point in its existence, a quaint Country French family room that did not meld well with the overall Georgian feeling of the house. It was a given that we would gut the master suite and all 4 ½ bathrooms but having to deal with a major living area was creating a stumbling block to our buying the house. Chris offered cost effective design solutions that made the project work without our feeling overwhelmed.”

Susan and Jay, native Atlantans, had been looking for years in a particular close-in Sandy Springs neighborhood when their real estate agent found an older Greek Revival style house with a pool and lovely grounds. “ The one word that comes to mind when describing the interior of this house is the “Jetsons”! It was immediately obvious that we were embarking on an extensive whole house renovation. Our agent arranged our meeting with Chris and he instinctively knew what to do with the stylishly incongruent 1960’s “modern” interior. He drew the plans which involved major structural accommodations, sketched out design details and selected finishes and colors. Simply said, “we love our home.”

Cathy and Frank, having been through the renovating process involved in flipping houses numerous times, make a savy team who are more interested in results driven by the bottom line. “Chris was on time and on budget. His subs and suppliers are top-notch professionals. Chris has a great eye for detail and is able to edit our ideas creating great value and at the same time saving us money.”

Kim and Scott were interested in renovating their North Buckhead ranch. “It became quickly apparent that the basement would never serve the needs of a modern American family. After discussing the situation with Chris, we made the decision to tear down the existing structure and start anew. This was no easy or small decision on our part with family considerations! Chris chose an excellent architect who provided a wonderful set of plans that worked contextually with the other homes in the neighborhood. The finished product provided just the look we wanted, perhaps exceeding our expectations, considering our original plans for a renovation.”
